Well, the funny thing is that nothing close to anything in the poem has ever actually happened. No one's music collection has ever made its way to Jimbo et al. So the poem is not, in any sense, 'based on true events'. But it does draw upon some true facts, among them the existence of a large music collection and the fact that 223 is a couple of friends of mine's address. It's more a surreal fantasy than anything else.
